Curved Shop Fronts Repair

In simple terms, curved glass is glass that has been shaped through one of two specific bending methods:

Two-dimensional (2D) bending:

Here, the glass is curved along a single direction, resulting in a cylindrical form.

Three-dimensional (3D) bending:

With this technique, the glass is bent in several directions, creating more complex shapes like domes. Curved glass adds a distinctive and eye-catching design feature to architectural projects, turning ordinary spaces into breathtaking works of art.

Two-dimensional (2D) bending is the most popular, easy, and budget-friendly way to create curved glass. This approach involves shaping a flat piece of glass in one direction with the help of CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machinery.

In contrast, three-dimensional (3D) bending involves manipulating the original flat glass by stretching it in multiple directions, compressing it, or doing a mix of both. This process requires a custom-made steel tool to achieve the intended final shape of the glass. Consequently, 3D glass bending is a more labour-intensive and time-consuming process.

Using curved glass in architectural design opens up a world of possibilities such as using it in facades, balustrades, spiral staircases, elevator shafts, revolving doors, or skylights. Your imagination is the only limit when it comes to exploring these design opportunities.
